you are not alone with your loved one ashes

"Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the wind
to help the flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses,
and all my prejudice against my fellow man.
Give my soul to God.
If by chance you wish to remember me,
do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you.
If yo do all I have asked, I will live forever."

ASH SCATTERING SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE HIGH EXPENSES

For centuries North American traditionally buried their dead. But increases in life-span, environmental awareness, and concern about cost have encouraged more and more modern Americans to return to dust as most Native Americans, Hindus, and Buddhists do, through cremation. In North America, now one third of people are opting for cremation.
The No.1 reason for choosing cremation in a national survey was cost. On average, cremation is one-third the cost of burial ranging from about $570 to $1,500, according to the Cremation Association of North America. In the U.S., the average funeral cost (not including the burial plot or upkeep expenses) is over $7,300 Cremated remains, are portable and far cheaper to ship than a body.

GETTTING WHAT YOU WANT
If you want to be cremated, experts say to write it down, sign it and have a witness sign too. Then, provide copies to your relatives and make a point of talking with them about your wishes. If someone have no family in the region, it makes less sense for many of them to have a grave here and use up space that should be for the living.

If you opt for direct cremation, that doesn't mean there's no need or desire for a funeral or memorial service. As human beings we must have a ritual and a little more. We need that memorilizing.
